John Pitre's Icarus (UHQ - Ultra High Quality)
John Pitre's rendition of the Greek mythological God, Icarus, who is the son of the master craftsman Daedalus. Daedalus is known as the creator of the Labyrinth, or otherwise known as a maze. Icarus' father had constructed him wings built from from feathers and wax to escape the city of Crete. However, his father warned him of complacency and hubris, not to fly either too low or too high because the moisture of the sea and heat of the sun would damage his wings.
Icarus ignored his father's instructions not to fly too close to the sun. The heat melted his wings and Icarus fell out of the sky into the sea where he drowned, creating the saying -- "don't fly too close to the sun".
