For more than four decades, Pitre’s museum-quality oil paintings have captivated global audiences, earning recognition from collectors, galleries, and critics worldwide. His work bridges surrealism and fine art investment, inviting viewers into realms where dreams, reality, and human consciousness converge.
Born with an extraordinary gift for perceiving hidden dimensions of consciousness, Pitre discovered his artistic calling early. His journey into surreal oil painting became an exploration of the subconscious — translating the unseen into powerful visual experiences.
Combining classical oil techniques with innovative surrealist concepts, Pitre creates museum-quality works that transcend traditional boundaries. Industrial elements merge with organic forms, revealing worlds where the impossible feels tangible.
Throughout his distinguished career, Pitre’s paintings have been exhibited internationally, acquired by major collectors, and recognized as defining works of contemporary surrealism. Each canvas reflects years of mastery, philosophy, and artistic vision.
The Universe, Our World, and Us examines the challenges shaping our world today, from global conflict to the role of governments and human responsibility. Through thoughtful ideas and visionary insight, John Pitre explores how humanity can overcome division and build a more cooperative and peaceful future.

We believe fine art should be both collectible and future-proof. By combining museum-grade curation with blockchain technology, Artopia NFT ensures every artwork retains its authenticity, provenance, and value forever. Our mission is to make the next generation of fine-art collecting accessible, transparent, and rewarding for artists and investors alike.
NFT technology introduces a revolutionary concept to the art world: true digital ownership. Through blockchain verification, collectors can own authenticated digital artworks with permanent provenance, just as they would a physical painting. Each Artopia piece is recorded on the blockchain, ensuring rarity, authenticity, and a transparent ownership history that cannot be altered.
The art market is rapidly evolving as collectors increasingly embrace digital experiences. NFTs allow artists to release works that exist natively in the digital world while maintaining scarcity and value. Through Artopia, collectors gain access to a new category of fine art—one that blends creativity, technology, and global accessibility.
John Pitre proudly supports Artopia as a groundbreaking platform for digital art and is launching the first featured collection on the platform. This release represents an exciting expansion of his artistic legacy, bringing his visionary surrealist works into the blockchain era while helping shape the future of how art is created, shared, and collected.
Yes—if you own an original work, we may be able to assist with resale or placement through our collector network.
At this time, we typically do not extend this service to limited edition prints. However, you can contact us to be added to our collector list. If we receive inquiries that align with your piece, we may contact you.
Yes. All original works are accompanied by an official Certificate of Authenticity issued by the artist. This documentation verifies the originality of the piece, including details such as medium, creation, and its status as a one-of-one work.
The certificate serves as an important record for provenance and long-term collectibility, ensuring confidence in the authenticity and value of your acquisition.
Absolutely. We actively welcome relationships with serious collectors—both those who currently own works and those looking to acquire.
For collectors who already own a piece, we offer opportunities to collaborate on documenting provenance, enhancing visibility, and, if desired, positioning the work for private sale or exhibition. Our goal is to honor the history of each piece while supporting its long-term value and legacy.
For those seeking to acquire, we provide direct access to available works, as well as rare opportunities to secure one-of-one originals. In select cases, this may include newly created master works by John Pitre, developed specifically for discerning collectors.
Due to the limited nature of these works, availability is highly selective. Every collector relationship is handled with discretion and a white-glove approach.
We invite you to contact us to start a private conversation.
This designation indicates that the original oil painting associated with this work is not currently accounted for within the artist’s archives, estates, or known private collections.
In such cases, John Pitre reserves the right to create a new, one-of-a-kind master original—executed in oil, acrylic, and archival ink—faithfully reinterpreting the vision of the original piece. This newly created work would be a true 1/1, offered exclusively to a serious collector as a once-in-a-lifetime acquisition.
If you currently own a piece listed under this designation, we invite you to contact us. We are actively working to document and honor all known originals. With your permission, we can update the listing to reflect provenance, ownership history, and—if applicable—note whether the work may be available for private sale.

When selected, each floater frame is milled from premium hardwood and hand-finished for a refined, exhibition-worthy look. Select frame options may include hand-coated metallic or gold-gilded finishes, chosen to complement and elevate the artwork without competing with it.
The floater frame creates a subtle gap around the canvas, giving the illusion that the artwork is suspended within the frame—an effect commonly seen in top galleries and museums.
For collectors seeking something even more bespoke, custom framing upgrades are available. Our team will guide you through additional finishes, profiles, and statement options, so we can perfectly tailor your piece to your space.
Your art arrives ready to display—and, with optional framing, we can further customize it to stand out beautifully in your collection.
A museum-quality archival fine art canvas is created to meet the highest standards of longevity, color accuracy, and presentation—ensuring the artwork can be enjoyed for generations.
Each piece is produced using a giclée printing process, which utilizes precision pigment-based inks on a premium 410gsm fine art matte canvas. This method is widely recognized by galleries and museums for its ability to deliver exceptional detail, rich color depth, and fade resistance—designed to maintain its integrity for up to 200 years under proper conditions.
The canvas is expertly gallery-stretched over a 1.5” solid wood frame and finished with a refined floater frame, creating a striking, dimensional presentation with a true gallery presence. Despite its substantial look, each piece remains lightweight and arrives ready to hang. A protective semi-gloss varnish enhances depth and richness while safeguarding the surface to ensure lasting beauty for years to come.
Each piece is then finished with a custom floating frame, carefully selected to complement the artwork while creating a refined, gallery-style presentation.
The result is not simply a print but a museum-grade fine art piece—crafted for both visual impact and lasting preservation.
John Pitre’s work is rooted in a lifelong exploration of surrealism, blending classical technique with cosmic, symbolic imagery that reflects on existence, consciousness, and humanity’s relationship with nature and technology. His pieces often carry deeper social and environmental commentary—addressing themes such as overpopulation, ecological responsibility, and the fragility of life.
This body of work also exists within a broader creative dialogue. Like many artists, Pitre both draws inspiration from and contributes to a global visual landscape—one that spans art history, from masters like Salvador Dalí to contemporary creators whose work is shared and discovered across modern platforms such as Pinterest.
In that spirit, this piece serves not only as an original expression but also as a quiet tribute to the countless artists—past and present—who keep inspiring one another. It reflects an ongoing exchange of ideas, where influence and innovation move in both directions, shaping the evolution of visual storytelling.
John Pitre’s Masters are highly unique, one-of-a-kind works that combine traditional fine art, hand-painted detail, advanced digital enhancement, archival printing, and final overpainting to create a finished original piece unlike any other.
John begins with a hand-painted oil color study, using a palette he premixes himself. From there, he develops the composition through traditional painting before bringing the work into a high-resolution digital environment.
Once in the digital environment, John spends months refining, expanding, and enhancing the piece by hand using a professional graphics tablet. This allows him to build upon the original concept while preserving the emotion, movement, and artistic intention of the painting.
The completed image is then printed onto the finest artist’s canvas using museum-quality giclée printing with permanent, lightfast pigments. This archival process is designed for exceptional longevity and stability, helping the work resist the cracking, fading, and degradation often associated with traditional oil paintings over time.
John then finishes the piece by overpainting in oil and/or acrylic, adding hand-painted detail, depth, texture, and final artistic expression.
The result is a finished Master Original: a singular, one-of-a-kind work that represents the full evolution of John’s creative process. From that completed Master, limited-edition canvas giclées and other approved elements may be created.
